Where finance transformation gets real

Insights from Sapphire 2026

8 juil. 2025

Finance transformation becomes meaningful through practical conversations about real-world execution.

In reflecting on Sapphire 2026, it’s often the quieter moments that stay with you:  the side conversations, the roundtables, and the one-on-one discussions. This year, those interactions revealed a clear shift in how finance leaders are approaching transformation.

Throughout the event, there was less focus on high-level messaging and more on practical, experience-driven dialogue. Whether in structured sessions or informal discussions, customers were open about the challenges they’re facing and the places where transformation efforts are getting stuck.

One of the most valuable aspects was the opportunity to participate in smaller, focused sessions, such as the FS-CD and Conagra roundtables. Those created space for honest exchange between peers, less formal presenting, and more about comparing approaches and validating what’s working.

We saw the same dynamic on the showroom floor and during several PaPM demos. The most engaging moments weren’t tied to features or positioning but to real use cases that showed how organizations are navigating complexity, balancing innovation with clean core principles, and trying to move forward in a structured way.

Outside of these sessions, one-on-one meetings and booth discussions added another important layer. Those conversations were often more specific, grounded in individual system landscapes and business priorities. They reinforced how important it is to connect strategy with execution and to translate transformation goals into actionable steps.

What I took away from Sapphire this year is that customers aren’t looking for big promises. They’re looking for partners who understand the realities they’re operating in and can help them make steady, measurable progress.

That’s where I think msg global consistently adds value. Through a combination of deep SAP expertise, industry context, and a hands-on approach to making finance transformation work in practice, not as a one-size-fits-all solution but as a way to move forward with clarity, structure, and tangible outcomes.

For me, Sapphire was a reminder that the most valuable conversations often start with a practical question: what will it take to make transformation work in the real world?
