(Regensdorf, Switzerland) August 29, 2018 — Since the end of July 2018, Swiss drivers up to the age of 26 have been able to purchase CleverDrive, a usage-based automobile insurance from the Swiss Mobiliar.
With a device plugged into the car, data items such as speed, acceleration, time, type of road, and more are collected and enriched by location data from the company HERE. The msg.IoTA software then uses the data to quantitatively compare drivers’ behaviors, enabling the insurers and actuaries to develop their own score models against which to rate driving behaviors and set incentives (up to 25% discounts) for improving those behaviors. On a mobile app, customers can see their scores and the aspects of their driving they can improve to earn discounts.
